Travel to Stockholm

Travelling by plane

From Stockholm Arlanda Airport, you can reach Stockholmsmässan quite smoothly by public transport. Take the SL commuter train (pendeltåg) from Arlanda Central (SkyCity) — the journey to Älvsjö Station, which is right next to Stockholmsmässan, takes about 47 minutes. Once you arrive at Älvsjö, the fairgrounds are just a short walk away.

Travelling by train

Stockholm is well connected by rail, with frequent national and international services arriving at Stockholm Central Station, the city’s main hub. High-speed SJ trains link Stockholm with major Swedish cities such as Gothenburg, Malmö, and Uppsala, while long-distance routes connect from Copenhagen and Oslo. From Central Station, reaching Stockholmsmässan is easy: simply take the commuter train (pendeltåg) toward Södertälje or Tumba and get off at Älvsjö Station, just a 10-minute ride away. The exhibition centre is located directly next to the station, making the final transfer quick and convenient.

Travelling by car

Stockholm can be reached via major highways such as the E4 from the north and south and the E18 from the west. To get to Stockholmsmässan, follow signs toward Älvsjö and the exhibition centre, which is situated just south of central Stockholm. The venue offers several parking areas on-site, and clear signage along the approach roads makes it straightforward for drivers to find the fairgrounds.

Taxis in Stockholm

When using taxis in Stockholm, it is advisable to choose well-known and reputable companies such as Taxi Stockholm, Taxi Kurir, or Sverigetaxi, as pricing among operators is not regulated and can vary significantly. Always check that the car displays clear pricing information on the yellow fare sticker on the window and confirm the approximate cost with the driver before starting your journey.

Climate in Stockholm

Stockholm has a temperate climate with distinct seasons, characterised by mild summers, crisp autumns, cold winters, and gradually brightening springs. In mid-September, the city typically transitions into early autumn: temperatures are usually mild, ranging from about 10–16°C, with cooler evenings. Days are still relatively long, and while sunshine is common, light rain showers are also possible.
