On-site attendance in Stockholm- what is included in the fees?

ESP Members, Non-Members, Residents and PhD students:

  • Admission to all scientific sessions (incl. additional One-Day Symposia)
  • Admission to Networking Reception
  • Admission to poster exhibition and technical exhibition
  • Coffee breaks and lunches from Sunday to Wednesday
  • Congress material (delegate bag, final programme, etc. to be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis)
  • Additional online access to all sessions both in real time and on demand (until 16 October 2026 for non-members and 16 December 2026 for ESP members)

Additional One-Day Symposia:

  • Admission to all scientific sessions of the respective Symposium
  • Admission to poster exhibition and technical exhibition on the day of the Symposium
  • Coffee break and lunch on the day of the Symposium
  • Additional online access to all symposium-related content, both in real time and on demand (until 16 October 2026 for non-members and 16 December 2026 for ESP members)

All registration fees are inclusive of 25% Swedish VAT.
* In good standing (membership fee for 2026 paid). Please note that the member fee can only be granted if you are a member of the ESP at the time of registration. If you are not a member yet, you need to apply for membership first and once you have received your ESP membership confirmation, you can register at the member fee. 
** For residents/PhD students only. The resident/PhD student status must be confirmed by a formal declaration (incl. start and end date of the residency/PhD programme; status throughout the congress is a prerequisite) in English language from the Head of Department or the person responsible for the training programme (programme director). The respective document needs to be uploaded during the registration process and must be issued in 2026.
*** Participants with full ECP registration can attend this symposium at no extra cost.

Registration for abstract submitters

  • For the 38th ECP it is not necessary to register before submitting your abstract.
  • However, registration and payment will be mandatory for authors of accepted abstracts by 25 June 2026 to get their abstract(s) published in Virchows Archiv.
  • Please note: ESP members with active membership can login with their ESP membership account credentials to register for the congress. Non-members will need to create a (registration) account.
  • When submitting an abstract or a bursary application, please make sure to use the same e-mail address as for your ECP registration.
  • Failing to use matching e-mail addresses might result in your abstract not being published.

Abstract authors may register at the early registration fee by 8 April 2026. If no registration has been submitted by that date, the early registration fee will be made available again once abstract notifications have been sent out, up until 25 June 2026.

Confirmation

Upon receipt of the registration and the corresponding payment, the congress office will send a confirmation to the participant which also serves as an invoice. A separate confirmation QR code for on-site printing of your name badge will be sent shortly before the congress. 

Payment

When registering for the 38th European Congress of Pathology, please arrange payment of the registration fee. All payments must be made online in EUR. You can choose among the following payment options: Credit card payment or Google/Apple Pay.

Should you not be able to use one of the above-mentioned payment options, please contact ecp.registration@mondial-congress.com, indicating whether you are a member or non-member, and you will receive a dedicated registration link and bank account details for payment.

Cancellation Policy / Change of Registration Type

Cancellation
In case of cancellation, please notify the Registration Office (MONDIAL CONGRESS & EVENTS) at ecp.registration@mondial-congress.com. A full refund minus a service charge of EUR 45 (incl. 25% VAT)1) will be given for cancellations received by 31 May 2026.

After 31 May 2026, no refunds will be granted.

Change of Virtual Registration to In-Person Registration
ECP allows you to change your registration type from virtual to in-person attendance until four weeks prior to the congress start. Besides the surcharge of the difference of the in-person registration fee, a processing fee of €55 (including 25% VAT)1) will be charged. Payment to be made promptly.

Change of In-Person Registration to Virtual Registration 
ECP allows you to change your registration from in-person to virtual attendance until 12 August 2026. A processing fee of €55 (including 25% VAT)1) will be charged. A refund of the registration fee minus the processing fee applicable at the respective date will be made. For changes made after 12 August 2026 no refund will be granted.

Double Registrations
In case of double registrations, which may occur in particular if a person registered through group & individually, it is not ECP’s obligation to identify and determine such double registrations and to respectively notify the affected registrant/group coordinator. A refund for one of the two registrations is only permissible, if such refund is requested via email to ecp.registration@mondial-congress.com by September 4, 2026.

Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate students are eligible for a free virtual registration to the 38th ECP. If you are an undergraduate student and interested in participating in the congress online, please contact the Congress Office at congress@esp-pathology.org.

Invitation Letter

The congress organisation will be pleased to send a formal invitation letter to delegates requesting a respective document for visa purposes. You can apply for an invitation letter online during the registration process. The letter will be sent as an email attachment. It is understood that such an invitation is intended to help potential delegates to raise funds or to obtain a visa. This does not imply a commitment from the congress to provide any financial support.

Visa

The entry formalities for Sweden vary according to the country of origin. Congress delegates are asked to address enquiries about entry and vaccination requirements to the travel agent or to the local consulate of Sweden in the home country. More information can be found at

On-Site Registration

Participants who would like to register on-site are advised to arrive early. On-site registration does not necessarily entitle the participants to receive a delegate bag.
