Molecular Pathology Diagnostics Symposium (MD)
Monday, 14 September 2026
We are pleased to invite you to the “Symposium on Molecular Pathology Diagnostics and Translational Research”. Our program for 2026 includes molecular approaches with direct clinical applications in oncology as well as newest developments in modern technologies and the analysis of biomarkers. A central goal for scientists collaborating with pathologists and clinicians in this field is to deliver high-quality molecular diagnostics while simultaneously translating basic research discoveries into clinical practice.
The symposium will address and discuss recent advances, but also challenges and problem-solving strategies in the evolving field of molecular pathology.
The symposium will cover the following topics:
- European Master Molecular Pathology (EMMP) – Project presentations
- Update on molecular biomarkers across organs in 2026
- GenomSeq in Europe: National consortia updates, whole genome sequencing applications, and enhanced data interpretation
- Future directions in MRD and liquid biopsy for solid tumours
- Molecular Tumor Board: Interdisciplinary case discussions among oncologists, pathologists, and human geneticists
Organisers of the symposium:
- Johan Botling, Sweden
- Erik Jan Dubbink, The Netherlands
- Carina Heydt, Germany
- Marius Ilié, France
- Caterina Marchiò, Italy
- Matthias Matter, Switzerland
- Sabine Merkelbach-Bruse, Germany
