Scientific Programme
Motto for this year´s ECP 2025
This year´s motto for ECP 2025 – “ECP Vienna: Tradition Meets Future” – highlights the crucial role of pathology in advancing diagnostics, targeted therapies, and clinical practice. The scientific programme, developed by ESP working groups, affiliated societies, and committees, will feature keynote lectures, symposia, interactive sessions, oral and poster presentations, as well as dedicated trainee activities. It offers an excellent opportunity for professional development, networking, and shaping the future of pathology.

The organisers cannot assume liability for any changes in the congress programme due to external or unforeseen circumstances. We recommend using the online programme and congress app for an up-to-date version of the programme.

The Abstract Book of the 37th European Congress of Pathology has been finalised and is available for browsing on the congress website.
All abstracts are published in Virchows Archiv, Volume 487, Issue 3, Supplement 1.
On-Demand Content
All scientific sessions will be available on demand until 10 October 2025 for non-members or 10 December 2025 for ESP members.

Badge Printing Stations
On-Site Check-In & Badge Printing
If you have registered and paid in advance, you can conveniently print your name badge at the self-service terminals in the ACV Entrance Hall. Simply scan the QR code you received via e-mail on 2 September 2025, and your badge will be printed automatically.
If you do not have your confirmation with you, please proceed to the “Registration Service” counter for assistance.
On-Site Registration
On-site registration will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, please turn to the respective counter section. Priority will be given to pre-registered delegates. Depending on the number of on-site registered delegates, availability of congress material may be limited.
Congress Materials
Our staff will hand out congress bags at the “Congress Material Distribution” area in the Entrance Hall.

Lost Badge
Please note that your name badge is your entrance validation. If you lose your name badge you will be charged a EUR 50 deposit for a new one. In case you can present both badges later, the EUR 50 deposit will be refunded. Please contact our staff at the registration counter.
CME Accreditation / Certificate
The 37th European Congress of Pathology, Vienna, Austria has been accredited with 26 European CME credits (ECMEC®s) by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®).

How to claim your CME certificate
For on-site participants: To receive CME credits, on-site participants must scan their badge at the designated CME stations during the congress
- once in the morning and
- once in the afternoon
Please note: A personalized email with a link to the congress evaluation will be sent to you after the congress. Delegates must complete the online evaluation form in order to claim their certificate. Once the evaluation is submitted, the personalised certificate will be sent via email.
Virtual attendance: Virtual attendance is tracked through the streaming platform. A personalized email with a link to the congress evaluation will be sent to you after the congress. E-Posters / Posters
E-Posters Location Guide
E-Posters will be available on E-Poster Terminals in Hall X4.
All E-Poster authors and poster presenters have been invited to upload their poster prior to the ECP 2025. All uploaded E-Posters can be searched for and viewed electronically on the 6 terminals from Sunday, 7 September to Wednesday, 10 September 2025.
Where to Find Poster Sessions at the Congress
Poster sessions will be held from Sunday, 7 September to Wednesday, 10 September 2025 in Hall X4 of the ACV.
These sessions offer an effective forum for the exchange of information and a means to communicate ideas, research and programmes. Poster authors are required to be available for questions and further information at their poster board during the morning session break (09:30 –10:30) from Sunday to Wednesday. Posters are changed daily and are on display for the entire day of the respective poster session. They are sorted by topic and will be numbered within those topics.
The best posters of each topic will be presented during the afternoon coffee break (16:45 – 17:15 Sunday – Monday, 13:15 – 13:45 and 16:00 –16:30 on Wednesday in the poster exhibition in Hall X4 at the E-Poster Terminals). The poster exhibition is open to all registered delegates.
Poster Discussion Times
Interested participants can meet the authors for discussions of their poster presentation during the time of the poster presentation.

Travel and Transport Information for ECP 2025
Getting to the Congress Center
Vienna Airport is situated approximately 22 km from the congress venue (ACV). The City Airport Train (CAT) offers a non-stop service to the centre of Vienna in just 16 minutes, while the standard rail service takes around 30 minutes. Alternatively, the airport express bus reaches the ACV in approximately 30 minutes. Taxis are another option, with a travel time of approximately 25 minutes.
- Getting by train
Vienna offers excellent train connections to all major European cities, particularly through night trains. From the city’s train stations, you can easily reach the ACV via public transport: Vienna Central Station (U1 subway line, just 15 minutes with no transfers), West Station (U3 and U6 subway lines), and Praterstern (U1 subway line).
- Getting by car
Austria boasts an excellent motorway and road network. To reach the congress venue (ACV) by car, take the A22 motorway and exit at ACV/VIC (Vienna International Center). Alternatively, you can use the Reichsbrücke bridge or approach via Wagramer Strasse. On-site parking is plentiful, with a garage and 18 electric vehicle charging stations available.

Information for Speakers
Speakers' Lounge
Invited speakers of scientific sessions are welcome to spend time in the Speakers’ Lounge in Room 0.49+0.50 on the Ground Floor of the ACV Main Building.
Speakers' Preview Room
The Speakers’ Preview Room is located in Room 0.11+0.12 on the Ground Floor. If you are a speaker and have not uploaded your presentation prior to the congress, please turn to the technical staff in the Speakers’ Preview Room for a late upload. This is possible one day before presentation, but at the latest three hours prior to the presentation.
Due to time and technical reasons, we kindly ask the speakers not to use their own notebook.
In the Speakers’ Preview Room there are several PC working stations, where speakers can work on their presentation charts in a quiet area. Technical staff will be happy to assist.

Social Programme
Opening Ceremony and Networking Reception
The opening ceremony will take place on the 6 September 2025 · 19:00 – 22:00 in Hall A of the ACV followed by a networking reception in Halls X4 and X5.
The ESP Foundation has kindly assumed the respective costs as a hospitality gesture for all delegates attending on-site in Vienna.
Congress Concert
The congress concert will take place on the 8 September 2025 from 20:00 – 21:15 at MuTh located in am Augartenspitz 1, 1020 Vienna.

What You Should Know Before ECP 2025
Cloakroom & Luggage Storage Information
A cloakroom can be used free of charge from Saturday, 6 September, afternoon, to Wednesday, 10 September 2025. Participants can also store their luggage here. The cloakroom is located in Room 0.15 on the Ground Floor of the ACV Main Building.
Coffee Hours Schedule & Location
Coffee and tea will be served free of charge to all registered delegates during the morning and afternoon coffee breaks, 09:30 – 10:30 and 16:45 – 17:15, from Sunday, 7 September through Tuesday, 9 September and from 09:30 –10:30 and 16:00 – 16:30 on Wednesday, 10 September. Coffee stations are located throughout Exhibition Halls X4 and X5.
On-Site First Aid
First aid will be provided during ECP tenancy hours at the ACV. In case of emergency, please contact the staff at the congress counter.

The booth of the European Society of Pathology (ESP) is located in the Entrance Hall of the ACV.

Liability and Insurance Notice
The ESP does not accept any liability for damages and / or losses of any kind which may be incurred by the congress participants or by any person accompanying them, during the official activities of the congress. Delegates participate at their own risk. Participants are advised to take out insurance against loss, accidents or damage that could be incurred during the congress.

The official language of the 37th European Congress of Pathology is English.
Lunch Breaks Schedule & Location
Lunch is served from 13:00 to 14:30 from Sunday, 7 September through Tuesday, 9 September 2025 and 13:00 to 14:00 on Wednesday, 10 September 2025. The catering stations are located throughout Exhibition Halls X4 and X5.

How do I log in to the virtual congress portal?
You can access the congress portal via the ECP 2025 Congress App by clicking on the Live Streaming Button. All Live Streams will be made available for live congress hours.
We recommend using the web App to view the Livestream.
Can I participate in online sessions and send questions to chairs/speakers?
You can use the congress app to send your questions to the session chairs. They will select questions and have them displayed for all delegates. Please note that Q&A will only be available during live congress hours.
Can I still register after the congress has started?
Yes, you can, however, only with the ESP member/non-member rate, as resident status cannot be checked. Please note that only credit card payment will be accepted at that stage.
How can I access the posters/E-posters online and when?
All uploaded posters will be available during live congress hours as well as on-demand (until 10 October 2025 for non-members or 10 December 2025 for ESP members). (ggf. Link einfügen, sobald online)
How can I access and view sessions on demand?
All scientific sessions (except for Videomicroscopy) will be recorded and will be available for delayed viewing via the ECP 2025 Congress App until 10 October 2025 for non-members or 10 December 2025 for ESP members (registered delegates only). Please note that CME credits will not be awarded for on-demand viewing.
